OHHHHH MYYYY GOSSHHHH. Y’all. I have never done a sunset on the beach shoot. Mostly for the fact that I live on the east coast, and if you know your geography and… science? I guess? Then you know that we get sunrises over here, not sunsets. And I can assure you I’m not the photographer that’s dying to wake up to do a sunrise shoot. HOWEVER. Not exactly sure when this genius idea occurred to me, but when Heidi told me she wanted to do her maternity photos on the beach, I remembered that a littttttle tiny sliver of Tybee Island curves around and faces west, towards Little Tybee Island (which is actually way bigger than Tybee, so riddle me that).

Wow, I’m feisty this evening while writing this. Maybe I’m just wound up because these seriously are so stunning. The backlight. The haze. The colors. The giant baby belly. I love it all. I do have to give some big props to JD and Heidi, because although we do live in the south, a shoot on the beach on January 3rd can sometimes still be chilly. You’d never know though that this wasn’t 70 degree weather with the looks on their faces! Keep your eyes peeled for this baby girl’s debut on my site in her newborn sesh.
